Why do people have obsessions with feeding people who have money?
Like the need to throw a dinner party to feed people & encourage conversation with others who share the same socioeconomic status?
I like food. I worked at a seafood restaurant & an Italian restaurant for years & honestly learned how to make really great food. I know a thousand dumb tidbits, like how restaurant pasta sauce is better than store bought—because instead of adding sugar, they add butter to cut the acidity. And that’s on being a servant.
But this idea that food is somehow an important part of community, promotes unhealthy relationships with food. For instance, the mental association of food with the times you felt warm & cozy, is honestly a recipe for a binge eating disorder. People come & go but there is always charcuterie. Remember when life was better? We used to get the greatest Paella at this restaurant around the corner.
But now let’s think about how people with no money can’t enjoy great breads & expensive wines, they can’t have a garbanzo bean, feta cheese, bulgar wheat salad. So why would I associate any of this with what community looks like? For many people, community needs to be free or they can’t afford it, or they feel they need to offer something, so it’s ruffles and ranch dip.
If you’re going to make great food, feed yourself and be satisfied. Invite people to your table who cannot afford it. Or shut up about the great dinner parties with all the special people you allowed in. At best no one cares, at worst you’re trying to make people feel inferior or giving people eating disorders.
That last rant astrologically has to do with the divide of Aquarius & Taurus (and Scorpio & Leo, all the fixed signs)
Aquarius is community & Taurus is feeding yourself.
You cannot combine them without creating an issue, because they are natural squares in the zodiac.
Taurus is fixed earth & Aquarius is fixed air. Taurus energy naturally suffocates Aquarian energy, when it is the focus.
Putting food at the forefront of community, will take the air out of the discussion, making shallow small talk & “catching up” an integral part of relationships. The depth will be gone and everyone will need vodka to cope.
People need to eat, which is why Taurus has the ability to feed itself. When there is no food, Aquarius is there to offer it because Aquarius is there to keep the community from starving—Not self-indulgent (Taurus). Feeding someone straight to their mouth is Scorpio, and this can only be one on one, so that equality can reign supreme.
People have dinner parties for Leo. To be the greatest & to be worshipped by the community for being the “best & most affluent king with the fattest constituents”.
Balance can’t be found in this energy. You have to be temperant & learn the importance of each one on their own before combining them like a dumbass.
Anyway, you can do what you want, but when I read food bloggers talk about the conversation that took place over their lemon garlic butter sauce, I IMMEDIATELY think about the class divides, and emotional eating.
(All in the fixed signs)
Since all the fixed signs are about human progression, dinner parties are what happen when you have stopped progressing the world & have begun to become incestuous to protect the genes of a few.
It’s what happened to the royal family, the 1%ers, etc. they get so far, and then “keep it in the family” ultimately creating a divide of progress & slowly imploding. (Look up Mayer Amschel Rothschild & what he made his kids do🥴)
This is also why astrology is practiced by elite people but considered evil or stupid by the masses. Keep the knowledge in the family.
Protect the secrets.
Don’t let the world get better or see the truth.
(Yeah I got all that from dinner parties & food bloggers. But hey, as above so below.)
