The Composite Chart is the only chart that offers you a snapshot of any relationship, outside of time an space. You put two people together as one, and you can see the beginning, the middle & the end, then back to the beginning, again. The Mars in the Composite chart is your co-involuntary expression, and your mutual sexual desires & chemistry with each other. (Look at the the house first & sign as a secondary indicator, for the full picture).

If you want to find your Composite chart, go to Astro.com. In the Extended Chart Selection, underneath “chart type” select Composite Chart Midpoint-method”.  Put the two partners (relationship between ANY two people, not just romantic) into the Birth Data section. After you click to see the chart, find the Mars sign symbol, then read the descriptions below for Sign and House.

Composite Mars in the 1H/Aries

With Composite Mars in the 1st house, you can have more energy and drive together than you do apart. You can both focus a lot on the relationship and each other, but you may have too much energy at times, and you can have a lot of arguments with each of you wanting to have things your own way. Learning to compromise can be very important with this placement so you’re not trying to be overpowering with one another.

Sexually you are potent and really enjoy to be as one together, making it hard to keep your hands off the other. You like it hard and fast but also slow and little rough, if you know you know…

Composite Mars in the 2H/Taurus

With Composite Mars in the 2nd house, you can take your time with one another, and you may not feel the need to rush with each other. Once you do something together, you can stick with it and have more staying power. This is the house of money, so this placement is good for a business relationship built around making money. You can earn more money together than apart, but you can also spend more money and use up more resources, so you need to exercise moderation.

Sexually you are very sensual with each other. You like to honor all parts of your 5 senses, and would much rather stay in than go out, if you know what I’m saying…

Composite Mars in the 3H/Gemini

With Composite Mars in the 3rd house, mental expression is important for this relationship. You each want to express your thoughts, opinions, ideas, and talk things over with one another, but you may get into arguments over what you say and think more. You need to make sure you’re allowing one another to express yourselves and not try to force your ideas and opinions on one another. Freedom of expression is required. You have a lot of verbal and mental chemistry, making work relationships (or any relationship) quickly go from chatting it up at the water cooler, to full on frenching at your desk (it could be just full force laughing at a sleepover too).

Sexually, you get really turned on through discussing mutual important matters. Whether it’s politics, behaviors of others, or observations on life in general, you get super sapio with each other. In bed, you tend to keep talking…

Composite Mars in the 4H/Cancer

With Composite Mars in the 4th house, emotional expression is important for this relationship. You each want to express your emotions, what you feel about situations, and how you feel within the relationship. This can cause more arguments when you don’t understand one another emotionally, or when you’re being too subjective or ignoring each other. This can be a good placement for a family relationship, and the directive is to make this your home. You have a lot of sweet chemistry that people like to watch, and feel special when they can see it, because it is so private. There is a lot of safety here, even when it’s exploited, you don’t feel exposed of vulnerable. You have a lot of sweet chemistry that attracts shippers.

Sexually you are very close to each other, and like to feel the other one body, mind and soul, and don’t feel weird telling the other one how much you care during sex.  You think a lot about them when they aren’t around because you feel them so deeply…

Composite Mars in the 5H/Leo

With Composite Mars in the 5th house, creative expression and joy is important for this relationship. You can come together to have more fun than with others, but you can focus too much on your own ego needs and drives that you’re not as considerate of one another as you need to be, especially in a personal relationship. You need to help one another fulfill both of your needs. This can be a great placement for a friendship and playful banter. You have a lot of chemistry because of the desire to hit on the other one and boost their ego, in order to have sex or get closer (if it’s friendship). This is the “Your love is my drug” placement.

Sexually you really compatible, because you both fulfill your ego needs in bed. You make the other feel like a million bucks and vice-versa.  You are very playful, but also take the pleasure seriously. Work hard to play hard. It’s hard to say no cuz you feel so good…

Composite Mars in the 6H/Virgo

With Composite Mars in the 6th house, you can be driven to focus on daily life and routine together, so in a personal relationship, you can be more practical with one another. This may be a better placement for a work wife/husband relationship, though you may have one person putting in more work than the other, which can cause arguments, unless you are on the same page, which this usually denotes the desire for. If you can both focus on your work together, you can get a lot done. You are very athletic together, and competitive against others and each other. This is a very grounded placement, meaning you rarely have delusions of the other one (unless there is a heavy Neptune aspect).

Sexually you are slow, methodical, and can go hard and for hours.  It’s fun for you to get really dirty and speak sensually but dirty. You can be obsessed with each other’s body, and only want it if it’s as hot as yours. You are not up for it if you feel unattractive or unhealthy.

Composite Mars in the 7H/Libra

With Composite Mars in the 7th house, the relationship can be more important to you and you can put a lot of energy into the relationship. You can be more willing to make compromises with one another, and work to meet in the middle, but if you don’t feel the other is being fair, that can cause a rift. In general, this can be a good placement for any serious relationship/partnership since this is the house of committed relationships, and you desire for that to be the outcome. Your chemistry is that of a married couple who knows everything about the other. You don’t even have to speak much about it out loud for everyone around you to know that you are together and committed, before it even gets there.  The desire for coupledom is strong, if not always correct.

Sexually you are very compatible, and have a habit of telling each other this to your faces, while you are doing the deed.  “We are so good together” is a common phrase…

Composite Mars in the 8H/Scorpio

With Composite Mars in the 8th house, you enjoy the power struggle and control between you both. You may try to dominate one another, and might have to work on treating each other with more respect–if that’s something you even care about with this placement (sometimes this means you were both born natally in the debasement). This relationship can serve to help you each transform, grow, and gain more understanding of yourselves and your own power, but it can also be intense and all-consuming at times, which can be difficult to handle and feel overwhelming, if you’re too young. Your chemistry is very apparent to those around you, but usually your sex is behind closed doors.

Sexually you are exploitative and explicit and raunchy. Sometimes it goes so strong and deep, you don’t need it the next day. Other times it’s so sweet and intimate you can only think about it forever…

Composite Mars in the 9H/Sagittarius

With Composite Mars in the 9th house, you can feel driven to expand your lives and have new experiences together, and this can be a good placement for travelling or learning together. You can debate over beliefs and outlooks, and you try to keep things light, but you may fight over your beliefs at times, so you have to remain open. If you have the same beliefs, this is a strong link between you that’s hard to shake. You like to have fun and can be a real power couple, which can scare people around you–because you do want that bad, and other’s see it. Your chemistry is light and charming, but also silly and full of wisdom. You don’t take much seriously until you do.

Sexually, you are expansive together and can connect on a much higher level then others see. People may project their opinions on to your sex life, like you could never be compatible because what you have is hard to see until they see it. And then well, people see it and are impressed…

Composite Mars in the 10H/Capricorn

With Composite Mars in the 10th house, you can be driven to achieve status and success together. This can be an excellent placement for a professional relationship because of this, and you can achieve more together than apart. In a personal relationship, you may focus more on how you’re perceived by others and the way you look together, and need to work on having just as much energy for a real connection that actually becomes more intimate than just for show. Your chemistry might feel forced at times.

Sexually you like to put on a show, whether that’s in the confines of your own home or in front of others. You may feel vulnerable after you have sex, due to the implications of how hard you hit it…

Composite Mars in the 11H/Aquarius

With Composite Mars in the 11th house, you can come together with common ideals and views of the world, and this helps you get along well. If you don’t see things the same way, you can have a harder time getting along, but can still be more open. You are generally well liked by everyone you mingle with, and enjoy showing off your chemistry, which is dependent on the Sign of your Mars (so check that). This can be a great placement for a friendship, as well as for a partnership focused on charitable ventures and making an impact on the world on a large scale.

Sexually you like to do it in public, or in front of other people. Orgies are not uncommon for you, because you like the network around you…

Composite Mars in the 12th House/Pisces

With Composite Mars in the 12th house, subconscious motivations can be more of an issue in this relationship, and you can have to work on trying to resolve those internal issues you each have before you can have a good pairing. You may feel less driven and focused together on external matters, and instead more focused on intangibles. You may feel that there is a spiritual connection between you that’s difficult to explain, or that you have been together in scenerios that may never happened. If you have ever stalked someone that you really don’t know, you might have this placement, although it doesn’t mean that if you are together in the real world.  Your fantasies together define your chemistry, so you may just hold hands and daydream and people do see that aspect of you, if you have made your love possible in the physical through mere chance and fate–not planning like a serial killer.  In fact, warning, don’t plan, only allow fate to step in.

Sexually you reach spiritual heights. This might denote rape, or no boundaries between you. If this is a love relationship, you may even check out during it because it’s so intense…
