Black Rain Boots

By June 6, 2026No Comments1 min read

Black rain boots
Muddy up my life
Black rain boots
Causing all this strife
I’ve been to hell and back
I’ve been on a river
And
I’ve never seen a woman
Without a black umbrella
Singing about the weather
On a tether or a string
And wondering what this life
Will bring
Without her black rain boots
Muddying up my life

And this Nazi Germany
And all the things
That she could bring
Won’t make me sing
Or sing along
Until she belongs
In my arms
And then those black rain boots are gone
And our life will sure move on
And I’ll never be sad
Or cry again
Or nominate
A non-ornate
Woman to take care of me
I loved you Annabel Lee

But you are not she.
