For Some Like You

For some like you
It’s hard to understand
How a beauty can become a beast
For me and you
We roll like wonderland
Turning tables, enjoy the feast

Started from the bottom
And never left your side
Who’s using who for success?
You sucked me dry
I gave the free ride
Now I’m here, you’re distressed

Where was my loyalty?
I left it when you smothered me
Where was my resistance
When you walked all over me?
I’m not the queen of controversy
I’m merely living, and youre dying of jealousy
I’ve got a twinkle in my eye
And that libra glow about me
Constantly searching
For companions that don’t need me
They want me
Come get me
And we’ll walk through this life
Equal and Together

As a child
I was told to compromise
Told to share
Told to smile
Told to care
As a child I dreamed of charming princes
But grew up and found out, I was no princess
I was a goal
A dream
No damsel
They called
I rose
And I answered
I’m sorry that you work so hard
Never caught a break
Maybe you’re too busy
Thinking you could take
All that I achieved and making it your own
Stop the silly witch hunt
I’m not afraid, I’ve grown.

I’m a person
Not a demon
I’m a person
Not an angel
I guess I’m flattered
At the constant chatter
But I’ve got 7 fucks
And I’m saving them
for people that matter

They all have an opinion
About who I’m supposed to be
I could soar in the sky
They’d try and shoot me down
I could drag my feet in the mud
They’d tell their pawns to take my crown
I can’t please you
I can barely please me
But God knows
That in the end, you’re gonna love me.
