Poetry

always the other woman, never your whore.

i WANTED you to want me
to wake me from the spell i’m in.
take poison from my mouth
spill it out on top of them.
you wanted somebody else
a crime, I CAN’T FORGET IT.
can i still be your favorite
if you’re married
to an IDIOT?

could you destroy the bad memory?
when you wanted a thrill beyond me–
you told me to leave.
all because i fed your jealousy?
IT WAS NOT MY FAULT WHEN I ALWAYS WAITED BREATHLESSLY

i was sleeping beauty in a night gown
surrendered in purgatory until the end
you said you’d be my friend
it’s true.
so where. the FUCK.
are you?

pretend you’re not with her.
treat me like we’re in love.
I’M NOT SOME SPAWN OF SATAN
with melancholia.
she’s spineless, diseased
hopeless, displeased
on her knees
saying, sorry.
STILL. at the end. there’s no love.
from men
like you,
for women
like
me.
who are free.
like you.

can’t you see all i’ve fucking done?
DON’T SAY I’M NOT THE ONE.
